Rio Rancho schools plan using cash for Common Core training
Rio Rancho Public Schools Finance Director Randy Evans told the school board they near a balanced 2012 13 budget and may spend about 2 million of an projected eight million cash balance on Common Core State Standards training. The board approved using PILT funds to pay roughly 150 kindergarten through third grade teachers for standards integration and renew software licenses for the Cyber Academy, while emphasizing essential SBA testing for juniors in 2013.

Relay for Life Kick Off in Rio Rancho Opens Event
The American Cancer Society Relay for Life kickoff runs 6 to 8 p m at the Inn at Rio Rancho and is free to the public.
