Palmisano touts success of University of Albuquerque basketball rebirth

Coach Palmisano praises the Dons season as a successful inaugural effort to revive a small college basketball program at the University of Albuquerque. He cites student and community buy in, progress from walk ons, and key players Willett Smith Gary Grandberry Ray Foster and James Neeley as forming the nucleus for future NAIA competition. He plans local high school recruiting and hopes for community boosters and Civic Auditorium play.

Winter open recreation swimming at four city pools

City Parks and Recreation offers open recreation swimming at Highland, Los Altos, Sandia, and Valley pools Monday through Friday from 6 to 8 am and 5 to 9 pm, weekends 12 noon to 6 pm. Admission is 1.25 per visit or a 10 monthly pass.

Paradise Hills Soccer Club Field Clean Up Day

The Paradise Hills Soccer Club will hold a Field Clean Up Day on February 22 from 2 to 4 p.m. All team members and parents should attend with wheelbarrows, rakes and shovels. the effort aims to clear rocks and debris and the team with the most volunteers will win $15 after the meeting.

Rio Rancho Soccer Club Registration Meeting Notice

The Rio Rancho Soccer Club holds its annual general meeting and player registration on Wednesday February 18 at Rio Rancho Elementary School. Parents must re register last seasons players 6 30 to 7 30 with the meeting to follow. New registrations welcome in ages 16 to 18 plus.
