Rio Rancho City Council faces two items, including approval of bylaws for the Rio Rancho Department of Public Safety Reserves. Mayor Terry Griffin sought changes the reserves say are political and conflict with the DPS chain of command.
Rio Rancho Planning and Zoning Commission continues revising the city sign code with a special session set for next Tuesday at 7 p.m. in City Hall. The seven month effort has produced a 23 page proposal. Wall signs may be allowed three feet above roof line under certain conditions after input from sign makers.
Rio Rancho officials at a joint meeting of the City Council and Planning and Zoning Commission established five city development priorities. The agenda included public notification on zoning, restricting home occupancy permits, Golf Course Road study context, a sign code direction, and a right of way dedication policy.
