Rio Rancho Council approves safety road changes and signal plan
The Rio Rancho City Council unanimously backed routing Eastlake Drive to align with Sabana Grande near NM 528 at about 14000 dollars to improve safety. Fire destroys garage at Rio Rancho home
Rio Rancho firefighters rushed to 110 Spring Rd on Thursday just before noon after a furniture deliveryman saw smoke. The garage suffered extensive damage from an electrical short in a wall outlet feeding a scanner and hotplate along with flammable glues and spray paints. No injuries reported.

Womble Given 3 Years In State Penitentiary
Womble, a former Rio Rancho officer, was sentenced to three years for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon tied to the killing of Kevin Kirk in Corrales last April. A one year firearm sentence was added, with 18 months concurrent for carrying a gun into a liquor store. Kirk died after being struck and shot in the liquor establishment parking lot.
