HP Abides by Deal but Withheld Rio Rancho Employee Numbers

Hewlett Packard says it is complying with the 2008 Local Economic Development Act agreement with Rio Rancho and will not disclose exact employee counts at the local facility. The city provided more than 2.2 million in incentives for HP to build a 218000 square foot office, occupy it for 15 years, and employ 1350 full-time workers by 2012, with a target of about 1800. Quarterly measurements for 2013 will determine if the goal is met, with penalties applying if the workforce falls short.
