Council mulls rent demand for senior meal site
Nash said the council will revisit the rent issue at the Dec 14 meeting and may send a note to La Buena Vida asking the meal site to pay rent or vacate the facility. Crane is exploring alternatives, but prospects look bleak. La Buena Vida Director Ernesto Suazo awaits the council's decision before choosing next steps. The nonprofit contracts with the Area Office on Aging to feed Sandoval County seniors, and if charged rent the site could cut funding to other services or move meals, possibly ending Rio Rancho service as a last resort.
