Rio Rancho Expo 45 Percent Bigger Show Opens Today

Rio Rancho High School hosts the first of two research expos with 581 projects in the gym from 10 a.m. to noon. The event features seven categories including Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Robotics. Christmas shopping season shows mixed local results

Local retailers report mixed results after the holiday shopping kick off. State reports progress under No Child Left Behind

New Mexico analysis by the Public Education Department finds that 77 percent of core subject classrooms are taught by highly qualified teachers under NCLB, with 71 percent in high-poverty schools. Secretary Veronica Garcia says the goal is 100 percent and emphasizes teachers as the key to student success.
