Northern open but widening continues in Rio Rancho

The opening of two paved lanes on Northern Boulevard from Rockaway Boulevard to Broadmoor Drive marks a scheduled start for Rio Rancho High School. Young top choice for city attorney in Rio Rancho

From 14 applicants, city administrator James Lewis recommends Don Young as Rio Rancho's new city attorney. If Mayor Tom Swisstack and the City Council accept, Young who has been acting city attorney since May will become permanent. Ambulance fee revision eyed after DPS city review

Rio Rancho could see lower ambulance charges if the proposal to the governing body is approved later this fall. DPS and city admin have calculated a potential reduction after the State Corporation Commission raised rates in 1996.
