City Council to hear petition on advisory board conflict

Rio Rancho City Council will consider a petition signed by 316 Meadowlark Senior Center members asking that councilor Eugene Burton not serve on the Mayor's Advisory Committee. Burton also sits on the senior center board and has liaison duties. Centex plant faces mixed county session in Algodones

Residents from Algodones crowded Sandoval County Courtroom to oppose Centex's proposed 250,000 square foot wallboard plant near the I-25 interchange citing dust, noise, and traffic. Spokesman Dr. Stephen Wagner led petitions and offered to help locate a better site, while officials stressed neutrality and limited legal options without zoning.

Wildermuth arraigned in Sandoval County

Timothy J. Wildermuth pleaded not guilty to the murder of Rio Rancho minister Max Austin. District Judge Tibo Chavez set bond at $250,000 and ordered Wildermuth remanded to jail. The arraignment occurred yesterday and DA Thomas Please See Wildermuth Page B-6.
