Albuquerque Federal announced it had assumed stock ownership of American Bank NA Rio Rancho Eddy County National Bank Carlsbad Artesia and First National Bank of Lincoln County Rutlaco all formerly part of Moncor Inc The move follows a loan Albuquerque Federal provided to Moncor Inc Employee Stock Ownership Plan and will keep the banks operating with FDIC insurance under local boards decisions on asset management and pricing.

Head on collision sends four residents to hospital

A Friday evening crash on State Route 528 near Sdbans Grande left Marvin Hunt and Pamela Hunt of Albuquerque hospitalized along with two Albuquerque residents. The Jaws of Life freed Marvin from under the Tempo dash while rescuers treated multiple injuries.

Body of Albuquerque man found near Petroglyph Park

The body of 22 year old Thomas Hornkohl was found in a 50 foot ravine at Petroglyph Park west of Taylor Ranch last Friday. Investigators say the death shows no signs of foul play and ongoing efforts include checking if he was the driver of a wrecked van found nearby. Police used searchlights in the surrounding area to locate the vehicle and possible occupants.
