Johnson keynote speaker at Rio Rancho career fair

Gov. Gary Johnson told Mountain View Middle School students that he chose politics in fourth grade and urged youths to pick a job they enjoy. He advised keeping one’s word, showing up on time, and doing what is promised as the keys to success, reflecting on his own two-term Santa Fe governorship.

Rio Rancho Chamber names Debbi Blevins Moore director

Debbi Blevins Moore was chosen as executive director of the Rio Rancho Chamber of Commerce. A Oklahoma native who moved to New Mexico in 1983, she has led chambers in Hobbs and Albuquerque and most recently worked with the American Diabetes Association. She aims to boost small business, keep dollars local, and expand chamber services while growing the West Side reach toward Bernalillo and Corrales. Moore starts May 13 and plans to be an active community presence with open ears to business needs.

Coalition to meet today on Rio Rancho grant program

A Rio Rancho coalition meets at 2 p m in district offices to discuss the Safe and Drug Free Schools program focused on drug prevention and school safety for grades 5 through 9 funded by a three year Title IV grant. A second meeting is set for Thursday at 6 30 p m in the Rio Rancho library.
