The T-Birds opened last week with a 20 to 7 victory over the Angels and then beat the Kachinas 14 to 12. Coach Thursa Chaves praised team effort for the opener, highlighting Stacy Lecznar grand slam and Denise Bisbee, Christine Goetz, Celést Martin, Michelle Greason, and Lavonne Shermar. For the Kachinas game Goetz and Bisbee combined with Christine Goetz in heat for strong pitching and a late rally. Boys division play starts April 25.
