Operation DWI in Corrales Promotes Targeted Traffic Safety
In April the Corrales Police Department will run Operation DWI and Buckle Down focusing on traffic laws with emphasis on seatbelt use and drunk driving. Chief Mike Tarter notes spring break and proms bring youth activity, and the department will target young drivers and passengers. Over the past year 433 seatbelt fines were issued under Buckle Down and 295 other traffic citations were issued under New Mexico Traffic Safety projects.

Radioactive device found in driveway in Rio Rancho
Boxes labeled radioactive were found Friday in a 850 Littler Drive driveway in Rio Rancho. Tests by an Intel employee showed no radiation and no danger to the public. Tracing the items linked them through The Source in Santa Fe to LANL and Sandia, with origin paperwork noting possession by Everline Instrument Corp and LANL.

Severn Trent Environmental Services STES union employees ratified a one year contract with Houston based partners after threats of a walkout.
