Growth central in Corrales zoning plans and figures

Charley C deBaca, Corrales Village Planning and Zoning Administrator, cites growth as the key issue shaping roads, revenue and development. He estimates 9,000 residents in Sandoval County Corrales, reports 147 new building permits and 18 mobile home permits in 1978, and anticipates 200 new permits this summer plus 35–45 mobile homes. He notes rising costs and land prices, explains mobile homes as a solution for middle income, and supports a north south road to handle sandhill traffic. He favors including the Black development in the village master plan for tax base gains and public needs while stressing his independence from the mayor.
