Dr Jos. T Hill preached at Second Baptist Church Roanoke about memory childhood prayers and the water of the well of Bethlehem using 1 Samuel 23 15 17. He recalled his Virginia birthplace and urged charity friendship and faith and noted the home spirit and parental influence shaping lives. The crowd packed the church for 12 40 and later services.

A fragmented 1928 notice mentions Lackawanna New York and Richmond Virginia. It states Booker Alexander is dead at Our Lady of Victory Hospital and asks his people on Baker Street to be notified. Also a request to locate M Leeper, a colored worker from a chai factory in your city, with Beatrice Leeper signoff.

Ministers Conference in Richmond Enjoys Great Session

The Ministers' Conference of Richmond and vicinity reports one of its best years. Dr. W H Moses of the National Baptist Convention gave a forceful talk on Christ teachings inspiring all. Brother J Burks of Portsmouth sung selections as the meeting fostered fellowship and joy in salvation under Rev. J E Fountain's leadership.

Phyllis Wheatley YWCA Holds Closing Vesper

The Phyllis Wheatley Branch YWCA will host a closing vesper service on Sunday May 20 at 6 o clock. A colored girl moved from the country to South Richmond where a newborn was found in a garbage can. she was arrested and bailed May 4 and has since disappeared.

Disorderly Party Crowd Charged at Clay Street

Forty seven persons appeared in Police Court last Tuesday charged with being disorderly at 1200 W. Clay Street where a gay party was in progress.
