Dr Petrie 75 Years Young at Charlottesville Church
Dr George L Petrie, longtime pastor of the Charlottesville Presbyterian Church, celebrated his seventy fifth birthday on February 26 1915 with a large midweek service. University professor C Alphonso Smith praised his fifty two years in ministry and thirty seven in Charlottesville, while noting the Southern Presbyterian Churchs 54 year history and Petries leadership. The ceremony highlighted Petries vigor, steadfast faith, and impact on local righteousness, as the church honors his service and plans for future growth.
