On the first Sunday of January twenty-two were received in the churches with six professing faith including mature men and heads of families Valhalla and Bethel. Rev. W. H. Hamilton of Ninety-Six was unanimously elected pastor, serving Walhalla full time except two Sab bath sessions, with Bethel taking the fifth Sab bath. He succeeds Rev. George M. Wilcox, now at Bennettsville, leaving the field in good condition for his successor. Cor.

The Mexican church reports a joyful Christmas with high attendance and many gifts for evangelists and Mexican friends. Donations included clothing toys and money totaling 59.50, with funds allocated to home missions organ local work and Christmas outreach. A Taylor and Waco connection supplied sweaters candy and trees.

In Huntington West Virginia the Week of Prayer ran nightly with sermons guided by Confederation of Churches themes. Ministers Rev J B Waller Kenova Rev J H Wiser Huntington Second Church and Rev R L Kinnaird Catlettsburg Ky preached with communion on Sunday the ninth instant. Twenty one new members were announced in the prior three months including one from the Roman Catholic Church. Over twenty two years average annual additions stood at seventy one with fifty two added since April first, nearly half by examination.
