Ear nest Lawrence, reputedly driven insane after a past arrest, allegedly murdered ten family members and Otis Drew family, then killed himself after igniting a farm home fire. Investigators note weapons found and a stray oil can, with survivors uncertain if fire alone caused deaths.
Eleven victims six from two families perished when a fire at Ernest Lawrence's home near Hickory destroyed the residence. Suspicion of foul play grows as witnesses report wounds on a woman and an ax found in the bed. Lawrence, 31, had a recent mental decline but no violent history toward family. Barnyard temperature and neighbor accounts add to a growing murder theory.
Lexington June 27 the Fay ette County Board of Education faces a grand jury inquiry after charges by private accountants that the board’s books were poorly kept and funds could not be traced. Circuit Judge Richard Stoll instructed the jury to get to the bottom of the affair.
Dr. D. Edgar Allen arrives to lead revival at Calvary Baptist Church Barbourville with 7:45 long service and 8:00 p m preaching by L A Byrd. Allen praised for pleasing personality and deep consecration as the church expects a strong old time religion revival. Everyone invited to attend.

Mr C W Davis of Red House pike reports his ward George Davis aged 15 disappeared from his Louisville Baptist Orphans Home of six years ago. He is about five foot six, 130 pounds with dark hair and keen black eyes. Last seen wearing a blue work shirt a new brown suit with green stripe and button shoes. Any information wanted.

He is a renowned educator and a potential head of the English department at Hastern after Dr James Bruner’s resignation. Betty McFarland 88 of Georgetown was killed and three others seriously injured when a car driven by W H Thompson overturned on the Georgetown and Lexington pike. Officers say Thompson drove too near the road edge while passing another vehicle.

Lexington June 27 Approximately 2171 of 2244 graduates from the University of Kentucky remain living according to the Alumni directory issued by the Alumni Association. The directory is the first since 1916 and records 1865 as the founding of the university with 15000 alumni. The oldest living graduate is William Benjamin Munson class of 1869, president of Denison Cotton Mill Company in Denison Texas.
Madison county reports strong support for a tobacco organization under the Sapiio plan. About 100000 more pounds were signed Saturday, bringing near a million pounds signed by Madison growers, with many ready to sign once papers are present. A partial list names numerous farmers such as J. M. Adams, Sam Weeks and Son, C. P. Wagers, Mrs. S. J. Mason and Son, Charley Hollingsworth, Charles EH Gibson, Sam Hockaday, Speed Taylor, and many others.
