Dixie Highway to be opened year round travel from Kentucky to Florida
Dixie Highway officials announce June 14 1920 as the inspection and dedication date for the eastern division through the Cumberland Mountains with plans for all year travel from Mt Vernon Kentucky to Chattanooga Tennessee and onward to Florida. Budget includes 34700 for surfacing and grading plus state federal aid for 20 miles. Georgia and Florida bond issues loom.
