Obert Dragoo, described as ill with influenza for two weeks, leaped from a window during a Saturday night episode and was found unharmed. He was taken to Pattie A infirmary and later cared for by relatives in Nicholasville, while his employer J W Zar and Mill Company associates voiced concern.
York reports the National War Board decided on action in New York harbor and urged owners to meet workers demands. The note mentions sixteen thousand men involved and indicates ongoing labor tensions and regulatory measures amid wartime conditions.

The Supreme Court today held the Reed bone dry amendment prohibits interstate transport for beverage purposes into dry states even for personal use. Justice McCrey dissented, joined by Justice Clark, arguing the Reed amendment oversteps federal power and intrudes on state authority.
Mrs. Thomas Brotherton of Moberly died at home Saturday after a short pneumonia illness. She leaves a husband and two adopted children, plus several brothers and sisters. A Flatwoods Christian church member for years, she was sister to James Moores of Glyndon barbershop. Funeral services by Dr. E. C. McDougle, burial in Richmond cemetery.
Belle Roberts, formerly of Richmond, died after a brief illness at her Jessamine county home on Sunday. Funeral services will be held at her residence on Tuesday.
Roger Rucker died in Lexington Sunday afternoon after a several day illness of double pneumonia. He accompanied his brother Jen Secor to attend the burial but fell ill and could not attend the funeral. Survived by his two children his aged mother and several sisters.
The State Board of Health secured an injunction against D. D. Smith, owner of a Frankfort picture show, for defying the influenza ban. Smith sought to dissolve the order in Circuit Court, arguing discrimination, but Judge Stout refused to dissolve the injunction.

Mrs James G Carpenter Sr died after a long illness at Stanford late Saturday night. She was the mother of Mrs Homer W Carpenter and Mrs Josephine Carpenter and grandmother to Jamies G Carpenter Sr of Crab Orchard and First Lieut Hubert C Carpenter with the American army in France. A lifelong Christian, she was beloved for her strong character and charitable life.

Margaret Buckley appointed guardian for Catherine Eleanor and William Buckley with R. J. McKee as bond surety. Alex Black named administrator of Thomas H. Park estate with 1000 bond and Ida Parke George P. Parke as sureties. Price Gumm and George W Phelps named appraisers for the estate.

Homer Butler a Forest Hill farmer dies at home after a short illness from influenza. He leaves a widow Irene Hastings and 10 day old daughter, plus his mother, siblings, and a farm partner. Funeral at 3 pm today in Richmond cemetery conducted by Dr D H Matherly.
President Wilson sent an urgent message to Congress urging immediate action on a proposed hundred million dollar appropriation for food relief in Europe. He said a food ration was the key to the entire European situation and to peace.

John L. Whitehead Jr., 20, Williamsburg Kentucky native, died in Denver December 14 1918 from pneumonia after influenza. He was the sole living grandson of the late Gen Green Clay Smith of Kentucky. Survived by father and mother and another relative.

Paris January 13 The first business for the Supreme War Council was settling representation in the interallied conference. China will have its own delegation. Japan will not represent China. Delegation numbers remain unsettled while American delegates focus on a league of nations and a just peace with principle over territorial or economic aims.

The seizure leaves insurgents without a key Berlin stronghold besides the fortified Silesian railway station. Spartacan force estimated at 600 with many women. Dr Radek, Bolshevik emissary, also arrested.
