The Rev Henry Clay Morrison bishop of the Methodist Episcopal Church South and long time superannuate died at his Leesburg Florida home. Born in Tennessee he served as chaplain with Gen Morgan's cavalry during the Civil War. Survived by wife Mary Ray two sons Horace and Harry Morrison a daughter Mrs James McClusky and stepson Eugene Ray.
Lawrence Piercy, charged with abducting and attempting to murder Peter W. Wells on December 2, facing an examining by County Judge W. K. Price. Piercy to be returned to Lexington after the local exam, then later to Richmond for further proceedings as federal cases continue. Wells denies motive, while detectives and witnesses discuss the broader gang activity linked to a Tyrone distillery raid.
Madison County Circuit Court sets $15000 bond for Mickey Keith, confessed member of a Lawrence Piercy led group involved in the Wells abduction attempt.
