Tobacco sales at the Home Warehouse Friday totalled 127000 pounds with no rejections and an average price of 32.40 dollars. Wagons awaiting unloading linger as pools and unpooled tobacco affect supply while Danville prepares for Monday sales and Lexington reports little weed outside the pool.
First Christian church hosts a Friday dinner for about fifty men to support the annual Every Member Canvass. The church aims to raise more than 10 000 dollars on Sunday afternoon to fund expanding work as a leading southern denomination church.

Friday afternoon the White Hall school sent both boys and girls to Waco where the home teams won. It was White Hall’s first away game and both squads fought hard but lost. Girls fell 7 to 3 while the boys were defeated 14 to 10.

In Cynthiana Kentucky on December 17 a grandson of M Polly living near Boyd had part of his face torn away by accidental gun discharge. He was rushed to a local hospital in serious condition. A choir rehearsal at First Christian church is set for Sunday at 5 30 PM to practice Christmas carols for the Community Christmas tree with choirs and helpers urged to attend.

Berea reports Lawrence Williams was shot by guards while trying to take twenty five dollars in exchange for college keys and was taken to his Floyd county home with a non serious left shoulder wound. Berea Ky December 17 Berea College launches the Be rea College Necessity Fund to raise 1 000 000 for higher salaries and immediate needs. The drive involves officials and alumni and an advisory board of notable leaders nationwide. It seeks to expand faculty pay, dormitory space, and student aid while highlighting Berea’s mountain education mission since 1855. The effort has Harding's endorsement and includes prominent backers such as Henry J Allen Belle Bennett Jennings Bryan and Theodore Roosevelt.
