Voters in 31 counties favored Amendment No 1 and in 39 they backed Amendment No 2. The majority against Amendment No 1 was 52123 and against Amendment No 2 was 36526. Amendment 1 would remove the state superintendent of Public Instruction from constitutional offices. Amendment 2 would alter school fund distribution to aid poorer counties. One county Casey did not place the amendments on the ballot, so no returns were received.
