Two Gars Collide on Big Hill Pike
William Hawkins and family of Speedwell were in a car on the Big Hill pike when they collided with a car driven by a Black man near John Gibson’s home. The Hawkins son was thrown through the windshield with severe head face and hand wounds. Mrs Hawkins bruised and Mr Hawkins shaken. The other driver injured as well. T D Chenault Jr assisted and they were taken home. The vehicles were demolished with a locomotive like crash.

Two Negroes Held On Charge Of Robbery
Porter Matherly and James Oldham, both residence of Red House, are jailed in county custody on robbery charges tied to a Red House incident the day of the American Legion picnic at Boonesboro. Rowland Lewis visited E. E. Davis store at Red Trouble for gas. robbers lounged on the porch and near the home. Sanford Clay is still at large. A handkerchief Davis says he sold to James Oldham prior to the robbery was found at the Dykes home. The trio’s case will be heard in county court Tuesday.
