Washington April 8 the bank note bond and postage stamp divisions of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing will close for an indeterminate period to take an inventory after James L Wilmeth and 28 chiefs superintendents and foremen were removed by presidential order a week ago. The shutdown follows a conference with Louis Hill the new director and treasury officials. It is hinted the bureau will be reorganized or Hardingized during the shutdown with about 1500 employees discharged to return to pre war levels.
