The Star Milling Co. flour mill near the Southern depot in Nicholasville owned by John R. Williams burned Saturday. The frame building held 600 to 700 barrels of flour, corn meal, and grain, all destroyed. Loss estimated at 40 000 to 50 000 dollars, partly insured. Fire origin unknown. Wm Dunn a 19 year old negro who wounded G W Abbott 75 from Rockcastle county shot him at Dunns Rose street home then fled. He was arrested after a patrol stop and removed to the Frankfort reform school for safekeeping by order of County Judge F A Bullock as a crowd gathered outside the Fayette county jail. Abbott died from abdominal wounds at Good Samaritan Hospital.
