Satterfield To Address Convocation At University

Satterfield returns to his alma mater today to give the main address at the convocation opening the University of Richmond. Dr. Boatwright presides and introduces him as department heads report enrollment for 1987-38.

Managerships Announced at Richmond College

Four major sport managerships at Richmond College announced by the Athletic Department. John Haw to lead football as senior manager with Bob Martin and sophomores Bob Moore and Evan Van Leeuwen as assistants. Basketball officials include J. T. Arendall as senior manager and Sidney Barney as junior manager with Bill Maney and Luther Jenkins as sophomores. Baseball duties go to Shanks Wilburn and George Sommers with sophomores Bucky Stover and Jack Long. Track manager Bill Covell with Kenneth Bass and R. F. Daniels and John Jordan as sophomores.

Westhampton Institutes New Dormitory Permission Rules

Westhampton College announces stricter rules for student permissions including 10 30 P M 12 oclock and overnight dorm access. All requests must be filed and approved in the Dean Keller office before 1 00 P M with signed slips. Exceptions include blanket permissions for concerts and urgent group decisions.

Envoy Dodd to Speak Tonight in Cannon Chapel

United States Ambassador to Germany since 1933 and historian Dr William Edward Dodd will lecture in Cannon Memorial Chapel at 8:00 PM tomorrow. The talk precedes his October 8 departure for Germany as German Nazi protests swirl around a controversial letter he published in the Richmond Times Dispatch.

Annual Student Government Dance Date Change

The Student Government Dance moves from October 1 to Saturday October 2 with music by Jimmy Hamner and his ten piece band in the New Women's Activities Building gym. Westhampton College and Richmond College committees and student volunteers will coordinate introductions for new students and wear ribbons for identification. No admission charge. chaperones are Dean Keller and Dr. and Mrs. Pinchbeck. event open to students of both schools.

New System of Financing Interfraternity Dances

The Inter-fraternity Dance Committee sets October 15 and 16 as opening dates for dances with non fraternity men eligible. A three dollar ticket system aims to cut costs by about 40 percent and fund the council in advance. Ticket sales for nonfraternity members occur September 29 and 30 in the Administration Building from 9 AM to 1 PM.
