Thief Targets Dorm Rooms Prompt Warning To Students

New Law School Dean Speaks To Student Body Tomorrow

Harold G. Wren named dean of the T. G. Williams Law School will address students at 9:00 Friday morning in the SBA Dennis Auditorium. Wren, a 34 year old Yale trained scholar, succeeds Judge Doubles who remains as professor after Muse’s death last October.

US Judge Merhige Keynotes U R Law School Orientation

U S District Judge Robert R. Merhige Jr opened the University of Richmond Law School orientation at 10:00 in the law school courtroom. Dean Harold G. Wren and President Heilman welcomed the new students as Wren succeeded the late William T. Muse.

University of Richmond reports 1971 72 gifts total

The University of Richmond recorded 2,701,356 in charitable gifts for 1971 72, nearly 1 million more than the prior year. The Annual Giving Program contributed 278,000 of the increase. Gifts from Baptist General Association of Virginia and the Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges supported the total, with 761,324 from the Robins family under a matching grant linked to A H Robins Company stock. Proceeds fund salaries, student aid, classroom equipment, and campus services.

Leadership Training Conference At University This Weekend

National Leadership Methods directed program sponsored by the University Student Government Association will run this weekend on campus. Gaston Williams notes half price for organizations. R J Nutter reports 42 sponsored students and about 80 University attendees with 30 from area schools.

UR Dean to Leave Sept 15 and Join D and P in Richmond

Dean of students at the University of Richmond, Dean Baker, will resign September 15 after six years. He will become communications consultant and manager at Design and Production Inc in Alexandria. Baker previously led Shiloh Baptist Church and studied at Richmond College and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. His successor will be announced next week.
