Calendar Changes Assured? Faculty Return Dec 7 for Vote

A calendar change proposal is studied by a committee including Provost Smart and deans. If Heilman approves, the faculty may see the amendment in early December. otherwise deans will implement it. Examinations would end before Christmas, summer school shortened, and the year moved up to start in late August with a later May closing.

RC Elections Set for Tuesday December 7th

RC students will vote in a Special Election to fill vacancies in the University student governments. Sophomores will choose a class Secretary while RG students at large select a USGA representative. Petitions are due by Tuesday November 23 to Director of Elections Bobh Brizendine with home address, office sought, writ date, petitioner's signature, and at least five RG SGA signatures.

Racial Awareness Session Brings Mixed Reactions at Universities

About 70 students from Virginia Union and the University of Richmond attended a Sunday night racial awareness session. SGA splits posts and funds campus priorities

The Richmond College Student Government Association votes to separate the University Athletic Director and Head Football Coach roles due to conflict of interest. It agrees to cover 150 of 262 stolen radio station alums and debates a $7.50 student fee increase to $42.50. A permanent bulletin board between the Student Center and Ryland Hall is proposed with an estimated $1,000 cost.
