Under William Maner direction the University Players present Tennessee Williams play The Glass Menagerie with Hansford Rowe as Tom Wingfield Betsy Bethune as the mother Betty B. Web proofs and group pictures for Richmond College items

Proofs of all Richmond College class pictures will be in the Web Office on Monday November 1. Beginning next week group pictures of all University of Richmond organizations will be taken. Representatives of all organizations other than social fraternities are asked to send representatives to the Web Office on Monday November 14 at 1 00 pm to obtain the date and hour for their pictures.

Fraternal Singing Revived on Westhampton Campus

The campus revival of fraternity singing spreads beyond parties as Greek groups rehearse old songs with new songbooks. A nucleus choir forms from musically inclined brothers and a Kenyon style singing and marching group is planned for Greek Week. The frosh may judge fraternities by their chorus as much as by athletics.

Fresh Seniors Vote for Lake Boating Plans At Richmond College

Two of three classes meeting Tuesday approved boats on the university lake while the sophomore session was omitted by oversight. The Student Senate, wary of dangers, allowed student vote amid four drownings in five years as warning notes emphasized no university or student government liability.

Ratting Abolished By RC Sophomores

At a Sophomore Class meeting last Tuesday the motion to discontinue ratting for the rest of the year was unanimously carried. The decision followed complaints of apathy among sophomores and a lack of enthusiasm for the program.

University of Rich mond officials state ample coal for the semester with a single boiler in use due to mild weather. Business manager Robert Stone says coal stockpiled in summer sustains heat and hot water, urging lighter firing to conserve fuel.

Hudson Donates Trophy For Fraternity Floats In Homecoming Rivalry

Alumni Office announces Harvey Hudson class of 1942 radio personality donates a revolving homecoming trophy for best fraternity float. The plaque will rotate annually with the Miller & Rhoads trophy, granting first place holders permanent possession and one year for the new winner.

They Still Need You World Student Service Fund Drive

The World Student Service Fund drive opens Monday with a $1000 goal for the University of Richmond. Sponsored by the Westhampton YWCA and Richmond Colleges YMGA, the drive features a talent show on Friday and a chapel service on Tuesday. Funds support Europe China Southeast Asia and disaster relief.

Student Congress Sets December Meeting at William and Mary

The executive committee of the Student Congress of Virginia Colleges and Universities outlined plans for the December 9 and 10 session at the College of William and Mary. Members include Mark Saurs of Washington and Lee as president, Larry Wood of the University of Richmond as permanent secretary, and John Dayton of William and Mary. Three representatives from each of 12 member schools will attend, drawn from student government honor councils and campus press. Member schools listed include Bridgewater, Emory and Henry, Hampden-Sydney, Lynchburg, Randolph-Macon, Richmond, Roanoke, UVA, VMI, VPI, Washington and Lee, and William and Mary.
