Roosevelt leads with 618 votes of 773 from University of Richmond students and faculty, 67.01 percent, over Willkie with 242 votes. Thomas and others fare poorly. Among registered voters, Roosevelt holds 60.2 percent. Willkie 89.7 percent of those polled. Willkie strongest among faculty at 41.7 percent.

Phi Alpha Theta and Rho Eta Sigma will establish Alpha Beta chapter on campus with initiation planned November 23 or 24. Eligible members require a history B plus average and a B minus in other subjects. named candidates include Dr. R. C. Mc Dane, Robert Cotten, Earl Fox, Harris Grimsley, Charles W. McNutt, Walter Bass, Paul Harrell, and Jack Gordon. Rho Eta Sigma, founded 1988 under Allan Phaup, continues as a separate society with Harris Grimsley this year overseeing. Several petitioners unable to attend initiation are Irvin Lucas, Gilbert Siegal, W. S. Taylor, and John Jordan, all graduates no longer on campus.

Freshman Class Receives Torch at Westhampton Ceremony
The Freshman Class was formally received into Westhampton College by the Senior Class in Cannon Memorial Chapel on Tuesday night October 29. Seniors in caps and gowns lit candles and led a procession singing the Proclamation Song. Mary Alice Smith presented Katharine Hanley with a Class of 44 banner as leaders spoke and songs were exchanged.
