Richmond to confer degrees at June commencement
About 90 graduates from the University of Richmond will receive degrees at the June 11 commencement following Baccalaureate services. Honorary degrees will be awarded to five individuals including Clyde T. Francisco and R. Nevitt Sanford, with Sanford to address the exercises in Greek Theatre.

Philologian Society Announces Writing Contest Winners
The Philologian Society has announced winners in its annual contest. Don Amer man won fiction for The Day of the Red Fish. Strother Smith's Crab ber took top non fiction, and Un forgotten by Walter Duncan won poetry. Each winner receives a book certificate from Richmond Book Shop proprietor Vince Gilligan.

Summer Enrollment Peaks With 125 Institutions Represented
More than 125 institutions of higher learning will send students to the University of Richmond for summer school, forecasting a record 1 500 enrollment. Last year 1 319 attended. 165 courses will be offered by 77 professors in two fields. The first term runs June 18 to July 24 and the second July 25 to August 30.

Westhampton to Break Ground for Long Awaited Pool Wing
Ground will be broken June 9 for a new 175000 dollar swimming pool wing at Keller Hall. The project, aimed at serving Westhampton students and alumnae, follows decades of fundraising and delays since plans were drawn in 1956 for an Olympic style pool.

The 1962 Web arrives June 1 with signs posted in the student center foyer the refectory at Richmond College and the cloister bulletin board at Westhampton detailing when where and how to obtain. The Messenger will be published by June 4. Students departing before then may pick up in the fall.
