Seniors Step Up at Westhampton College Moving Up Chapel
Westhampton College held a moving up chapel on May 16 where seniors were recognized for leadership and service. Nancy Tingle received the Mortar Board lap for the class’s greatest contribution, and juniors joined in the selection process. Athletic honors went to Linda Frazer for the Sophomore Championship. AA leadership awards went to Betty Pritchett and Luigi De Costa.

University of Richmond two man team Jay Bond and Walter Griggs place ninth among 24 in the Tau Kappa Alpha national two man division at Bellarmine College Louisville May 11 to 13. Three Westhampton College students received blazers at the Athletic Association banquet on May 17 in the dining hall. Margaret Denman earned lacrosse basketball and hockey blazers, while Barbara Wilke and Sandy Weeks received tennis basketball and hockey honors. Grace Brinkley won the Westhampton tennis championship, and Denman and Carolyn Whittaker accepted lacrosse letters. Tennis letter recipients included Bond Sullivan Smithers Brinkley Koontz Weeks and All.

Westhampton College seniors awarded Mortar Board honor prepare for final tests and events. Senior Night in Keller Hall opens a week of banquets teas and skits hosted by sophomores and alumni. Monday features campus coffees luncheons and a 7 00 planning session before graduation weekend at Virginia Beach and a baccalaureate service. Commencement follows June 5 with a 7 30 ceremony at Luther H Jenkins Theatre.
