Farewell issue marks end of The Cone gian

College expresses sympathy for bereaved students

The College community extends condolences to G.I. Mack J.2B Mack and families after deaths of relatives in Goldsboro North Carolina and to G.I. Sisson and G.I. Terrell whose family losses occurred. The note confirms these men have returned to College and expresses earnest sympathy from the Waenly and fellow students by Order of the Student Council.

Virginia Techs Win First Big Meet

The first Virginia Intercollegiate Track Meet held at Richmond College drew strong showings from Virginia Tech and Richmond with the Cadets taking team honors and the Spiders close behind. Star performances featured Took and Davenport in the mile and Liggan’s near win in the 440.

Varsity Letters Awarded to Baseball and Track Members

At season end the Executive Committee awarded varsity letters for baseball to Blankenship Craven Jollit Crossley Pitt Sision Clements Luggin Carter Miller Northern Muanieer McDanes. Track letters went to Durham Satterfield Liggan Kuyk Cosby Johnson Taliaferro Buhlke Goode Parks. Athletic Association election results were not published due to lateness, but nominations indicate a fierce contest for all offices and manager roles.

Sophomore Picnic Celebrates Virginia Day at Bosher's Dam

The Sophomore class held a birthday celebration with Seniors at Bosher's Dam featuring picnics and contests. Students enjoyed the river and a large birthday cake, marking their first real Day and plans for a Jamestown Island excursion postponed to next year.
