McKinney a Suffolk sophomore majoring in Business Administration was chosen as next year's Band president succeeding Willie Guy who organized the Pep Band and secured red blazers. Stone, a Covington junior majoring in physics, becomes the Men's Glee Club president succeeding Halford Hayes who led the club to quartets and an annual concert with Randolph Macon Woman's College. Mark Troxell will again direct both groups next year.

Lawson Smith Elected YMCA State President in Virginia
Lawson Smith, former Richmond College YMCA president, was elected at the Kentwood conference to serve as YMCA state president for 1955 56. He is a senior ministerial student at Richmond College and serves as Student Government Chaplain. Smith aims to continue Harold Braxton’s work strengthening local and state YMCAs. Allan Ballard was elected as the local Y representative to the House after Bob Ellis resigned.

Senate Implements Four Day Notice For Meetings At Richmond College
The Richmond College Senate passes a rule requiring four days notice to request a meeting so members can attend. It also approves a resolution thanking Al Owen and the Family Weekend committee and raises the loan fund from 300 to 500 dollars. Loans are due in thirty days or by the exam period start if under thirty days remain, with a 50 cent late fee per week.
