University Players directed by William Maner perform East Lynne May 10 11 12 to strong audience acclaim. Multi-Test Clinic To Visit Campus

The on wheels clinic will visit University of Richmond next week offering X-ray and health checks for lung trouble blood pressure anemia diabetes heart trouble syphilis and overweight. It will operate 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday Tuesday in front of Jeter Hall and Wednesday in front of Keller Hall on the Westhampton campus. It serves students faculty and staff with findings reported to Dr. Pitt or another designated physician.

Freshman Rattling Plan Approved at Richmond Meeting

The freshman class of 1950-51 at the University of Richmond voted 443 to 29 to implement a ratting program during their first month. Clyde Kenyon, president-elect of next year's sophomores, outlined a five committee schedule to organize the plan despite opposition about cadet-trained newcomers.

Fijis to Sponsor Annual Formal Ball

Alumni of the University of Richmond’s Rho Chi Chapter of Phi Gamma Delta hold their spring Fiji Island Formal tomorrow night at the Virginia room of the John Marshall Hotel. From 9 30 p m to 12 30 a m the event features Dicky Radford and his band with Mrs Garland Long sponsoring. Ten invitations go to each of the other social fraternities as Rudy Hetzer notes limited bids due to space while promising a stronger crowd. Phi Gamma faculty chaperones Robert Welsch and Mark Troxell attend with wives. The dance follows tomorrow night’s University Band Concert in the Greek Theater.

Pre-registration for School of Business students

Preliminary registration for students entering the School of Business Administration next fall will be in room 924 on May 16 and 17 from 2 to 5 p.m. Students should obtain a catalogue and instruction sheet at the School of Business office before those dates.

University boating proves popular with Westhampton students

Within a week 25 University students signed up for the boat donated by the College Shop for use on Westhampton Lake, and Richmond College alumnus Phil Frederick's canoe was added. The Interfraternity Council weighs a group buy but no action taken. Rules are set except for the summer term supervising body. Logbook sign outs at the dock base tree and the College Shop are required, and life preservers for non-swimmers are kept locked in the chest.

Westhampton Seniors Set Weekend Dinner and Party

Westhampton seniors plan a two event weekend to close the school year. Tonight at 6:30 they host a dinner in North Court with coffee and cake cutting for faculty and guests. Tomorrow 2 to 5 pm the Senior Class hosts an informal party in Keller Hall lounge with bridge canasta and music and refreshments.

Hal Bonney Jr a Richmond College junior was elected president of Mitchel Literary Society for the 1950 fall term. Other officers are Bill Chaffin vice president Lou Cary secretary Wellford Estes treasurer Page Hudson representative to the Forensic Council and Edward Baroody sergeant at arms.

Pi Mu Epsilon Holds Banquet at Oak Leaf Inn

Pi Mu Epsilon, an honorary mathematics fraternity, elected new members and held its annual banquet at the Oak Leaf Inn last Tuesday. Dr. Robert Gaines, professor emeritus of mathematics, delivered an address on the history of numeration.

Mortar Board Officers School Slated Monday

The Mortar Board School for Officers will be held Monday evening May 15 from 5 to 7 30 in Keller Hall. Ellen Largent Westhampton chapter president says it trains next year s officers of major organizations to clarify responsibilities. Sketches for New University Ring Submitted

The Ring Committee has notified companies bids are being received as sketches for the official ring. Final choice will depend on craftsmanship samples, with production plans expected by year end. The committee aims to decide within a week and may include chapel seal and small spiders in the design.

University Band Spring Concert Set in Greek Theatre

Richmond College and University music lovers await tomorrow night to hear the University Band in a 7:30 p.m. spring concert at the Greek Theatre. Director Mark Troxell leads a program spanning classical to modern, featuring Bizet, Florence Price, Chopin, Beneke, Les Brown, Bob Crosby, a trumpet trio, and a brass arrangement of Home on the Range. Tickets for students are 50 cents.

Training Deadline Notice for Vets under the 1951 Act

Veterans eligible for education or training under the Servicemen's Readjustment Act face a critical deadline of July 25, 1951. The Veterans Administration states courses must start within four years after discharge or by July 25, 1951, whichever is later, with training not allowed beyond July 1956 unless enlisted under the Voluntary Recruitment Act.
