Miss Katherine Gray Brugh, a freshman at Westhampton College, won the $400 second prize in the American Chemical Society Essay Contest for freshmen. Her essay “The Relation of Chemistry to the Tobacco Industry” classified in the industry papers section, continuing a Richmond university recognition after Jos. R. Robinson’s prior first prize.

Term exams for the second semester at Richmond College run from Wednesday May 9 at 9:00 until Friday June 7 at 12:00. Each test lasts three hours with morning sessions at 9:00 and afternoon at 2:00. Seniors take exams on May 25 27 and 28 while June 5 6 and 7 are for others. Freshman Math and English have special periods.
