May Day Celebrations at West Hampton

Sophomore pupils dressed in white and blue joined in a May Day at West Hampton. Activities included a flower bedecked throne, May Pole dances, and Mother Goose and Mother McDaniel performances. A lemonade stand and baskets of conkies followed, with seniors staying late. a secret about the party remains.

The Philologian Tutanary Society defeated the opposition in a debate on amending the Virginia Constitution to include the initiative and referendum for state legislation. The affirmative team consisted of W. I., Tiller, Asherd, Cheatham. judges were Prof. D. W. Davidson, Dy. McDaniel, Revs Newberry and Hall.
