Richmond College Spring Examinations Begin May 28

The Richmond College final exam period runs May 28 through June 6 with seniors having exams May 24 26 and 27. Some sections may test on alternative dates only with professor approval. Math 2 exams are May 29 from 2 to 5 PM and English 2 on June 2 from 2 to 4 PM.

Westhampton College Elects Editors for Publications

In a Thursday meeting the Board of Publications elected three officers for major college publications. Mary Bingham was named Westhampton editor of The Collegian, Maude Mahaney was chosen business manager of The Messenger, and Josephine Nunnally became Westhampton editor of the yearbook.

Harlequin Club Sets Date of Final Dance

The University of Richmond Harlequin Club will hold its final dance at the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity house from 9 to 12 tomorrow night. The formal event is open to students from Westhampton and Richmond College only and aims to improve social relations between the two schools. Three dances are held each year. the club includes two members from each campus fraternity, with Francis Robertson as the new president.

Web appoints H. U. Stephenson Jr as business manager

The University of Richmond Board of Publications announces H U Stephenson Jr as business manager of The 1981 Web. He succeeds Eugene K Ritter who filled the term after Donald Main. Stephenson is a Student Senate member and associate editor of The Collegian, a Kappa Sigma member, and a Biology Lab instructor. Harris Welsh notes The 1930 Web annuals will arrive next week, likely Tuesday or Wednesday.

Elmer Potter Cast as Falstaff in Merry Wives at Richmond

Elmer Potter, prominent University of Richmond dramatics alumnus, returns to campus to play Walstaff in The Merry Wives of Windsor. He played key roles at UR and Hamlet and Merchant of Venice in college. Since graduation he acted with Civic Players of Washington. The 1930 commencement play debuts June 7 at Luther H Jenkins Greek Theatre.

Pan-Hellenic Council Hears Dance Motion

The Inter-fraternity Council met May 5 to consider a motion by Mr. Day Lee creating a student supervised gym dance committee. The plan, post German Club disbanding, would seek action from fraternities by May 12 with a view to holding a dance on June 6.

McAdams Donates Gold Prize for Loyalty at Richmond College

Thomas B. McAdams provides a annual gold prize of 50 dollars for a Junior at The University of Richmond Colonial College beginning this year. He designates it as the A Award for Loyalty and Leadership and envisions continued support through a 1930 donation plan.

Committee Reports on Point System to Local Student Body

A thorough study of point systems by consultation with other universities has been completed and the final report was presented to the Student Government at the regular meeting Monday. The committee of Vernon P. Bodein Richard W. Payne Jr and George W. Schools outlines classification points for editors and student leaders with ten points for top roles and eight points for presidents.

Phi Beta Kappa to Initiate Thirteen Richmond Seniors

Phi Beta Kappa will initiate thirteen senior class members from the University of Richmond on May 16 at the Commonwealth Club. Dr Beverley D Tucker of Saint Pauls Church will give the initiation address. Speakers include Dr Gertrude Beggs of Westhampton College Dr John Garland Pollard Virginia governor and financier Alexander Weddell.

Plans for Pool Approved at Roger Milhiser Gymnasium

At a recent conference attended by Mrs Milhiser Dr Boat Wright and architects the Roger Milhiser Memorial Gymnasium addition to include a rear wing and a larger front office area was submitted for Mrs Milhiser donor approval The pool estimated at 50000 will start as soon as possible and minor improvements will be made including replacing the center trophy room lighting with a large chandelier.

Five Keys Awarded by International Relations Clubs

Richmond College and Westhampton College International Relations Clubs met May 7 at 7 15 PM in the Trophy room Roger Milhiser Gym. Five Keys were awarded for outstanding work: IFP Overton WM Myers EB Carbone E C Nininger and Fr W Binns. Carbone is club president. Dorothy Epperley leads Westhampton.

Henricksen Named Forensic Council Head at Richmond College

Gerhard C. Henricksen was elected president of the Forensic Council for 1930 31 at a meeting held April 30 1930 He is also president of the Richmond College Student Government Association He succeeds Walter H Bennett who led the council for most of the last two years The council restricted literary society membership to one regular representative per society.

Interest in Class Elections Brings Large Candidate Field

Jack Wright and Bill Pettus named new Student Government Association Senators. Washington C. Winn elected Senior class president for next year, a Sigma Phi Epsilon member and former student senator. No majority for Senior class president. John E H St Clair and Francis Robertson led the race. Other officers include S J Craft vice president, Garland Duches treasurer, William Berry historian, Paul Cale and J M Justice tied for secretary.

Four Richmond Students Elected to Alpha Psi Omega

At a recent Alpha Psi Omega meeting four University of Richmond students were elected to the national honorary dramatic fraternity. They are G Mallory Freeman art director of University Players John E Johnson electrician for a year Joseph Holland who has had several important parts and R W Payne Jr who has held prominent roles in plays. The current members listed include William Berry Ernest Hants Al Simmons Lawrence Bloomberg Louis Booth Don Pierpont Chas Stokes Jim Dailey and Miss Brown.
