University of Richmond Chamber Orchestra Concert May 4

The University of Richmond Chamber Orchestra will give a public concert Friday May 4 at 8 30 p m in Keller Hall. Dr Frederich Neumann conducts and Susan Metzner will be soloist in Mozart Violin Concerto No 3. The program features Elegy for String Orchestra Brandenburg Concerto No 4 and Mozart Symphony No 25.

YGOP YDC To Debate New Frontier Program

The University of Richmond Young Republican Club meets Monday at 7 30 p m in the Student Center lounge to elect next year s officers All members should attend At 8 30 p m the YR and YD debate the resolution The New Frontier Program Should Not Be Accepted Debating for YR are Strother Smith and Jerry Becker The YD team will be announced later All students and faculty are invited to attend.

Richmond College Elects Merritt, Lee, Robertson

The Student Party swept the senior class elections while the All-Campus Party won nearly all junior and sophomore offices. Referendums favored opening the library on Sundays and the slop shop at night across seniors juniors and sophomores. Senior results include President Scott Strother and Treasurer Walter Schwarts from AC, with various candidates listed for each post.

Students Earn ROTC Awards At Annual Inspection

Fourteen students received awards at the ROTC inspection review. Cadet Maj Paul Jones and Cadet Sgt Maj Phil Bagley led as outstanding cadets. Other honors included top academic medals for Charles Frangman Barry Steinberg Raymond Herndon Arthur Parr Robert Stubblefield and First Sgt Frank Powers.

Mortar Board Honors Girls At Smarty Party

Mortar Board hosts a Smarty Party at 5 30 pm on May 9 by the lake or in the North Court mail room if weather fails. Deans, top freshmen and sophomores, Phi Beta Kappa members, Intermediate Honors winners, straight A students, and Mortar Board honorary members are invited to a casual dinner with entertainment by new Mortar Board members. The event honors superior scholarship among the students.

Westhampton May Day 1962 Highlights and Moonlight Theme

Preparation is underway for May Day 1962 with Betsy Beale announcing committee work and publicity. May Court members include Mary Doug lays and Dale Boatwright with other court members listed. Activities feature Moon themed booths and Anglophone events such as a telescope display, moon signs, booths by class, and dances in the Greek Theatre at 7 50 pm followed by a May Day ball at 9 pm with music by the Escorts.
