Kappa Sigma Burns Final Mortgage Celebrations Mark End

The Beta Beta Chapter hosts a note burning ending 25 years of payments on the Kappa Sigma House begun in 1932. Worthy Grand Master George Raymond, Dr. R. G. McDanel, and Richard Poage preside as two new brothers are initiated and a trust official notes on-time payments. University rules require fraternity houses to be evacuated by September 1959, with two houses sold.

Richmond College Parents Weekend May 4 5

RC invites all Richmond College parents for a May 4 5 weekend featuring campus tours class visits fraternity lodges and faculty advisors. A noon luncheon Saturday precedes May Day ceremonies or Citadel vs University of Richmond baseball. An 8 p.m ballet and 8:30 11 p.m open house follow. Sunday church participation urged.

The O D K Carnival comes Friday April 26 at Millhiser Gym. Thirteen fraternities prepare seven concessions six shows and a jitterbug contest to decide Ugly Man On Campus with a portable TV door prize.

Ed Felton Named RAC President After Election

Ed Felton was chosen president of the Religious Activities Council at a March 19 call meeting in the Chapel. Suzanne Prillaman became vice president, Shirley Satterfield and Dick Hutcher were named secretary and treasurer, Tommy Baer treasurer, Pat Doggett Vesper Programs head, and Jackie Ryerson and John Jenkins co chairmen of Evening Watch. Officers assume duties at the second April meeting.

General Lindeman Addresses Scabbard and Blade Members

Greek Week Carnival Adds Ugly Man Contest to Events

Greek Week introduces an Ugly Greek contest to select the ugliest fraternity member. Votes cast at the Inter-Fraternity Council booth during the ODE carnival will crown the winner during the open house. The Ugly Greek will join the Greek Week Queen at the Bull on April 27, with the winning fraternity earning points toward the overall standings.

Chess Club Names Carl Sloan To Head Next Year's Team

Carl Sloan was unanimously chosen as president of the University of Richmond Chess Club in a Monday meeting. He will succeed James Imel on the fourth board, moving up from second to top spot as Jim Farrar departs in June. The team competes in the Southern Intercollegiate Tournament April 12 to 14.
