Millhiser Gym Donation Honors Richmond College

Richmond College awoke Saturday to own the 800000 Roger Millhiver Memorial Gymnasium donated by Mr and Mrs Chivenos Millhiver of Richmond in memory of their son Roger Millhiver who died recently at Yate University. The gift ends gym access struggles, enabling fitness and mind development for students. A student committee prepared resolutions of appreciation, to be sent to the Millhivers with a message from the student body.

Tiller Elected President of College Group

At a regular weekly meeting in the college auditorium M C A Tiller was elected president to succeed Titus W Beasley. Other officers named were T L Telbhle vice president Frank Botley secretary RW Kenny treasurer and V Hickerson secretary of missions. The cabinet will be announced soon. A lecture by Mr Handy head of the English department on David Livingstone followed the vote.

Triangular Inter Collegiate Debates Tonight

Two intercollegiate teams represent Richmond College and William and Mary in a second annual Triangular Intercollegiate Debate at Williamsburg and Ashland. The motion calls for federal plans to purchase and operate railroads engaged in interstate trade.

German Club Holds Fort at Westhampton

A striking meeting of the Der Deutsche Verein was held in the Senior Parlor on Monday February 22 inviting German students and especially German “rats” to attend for enlightenment and broadening of the mind. The debate featured Miss Stelly Kemper and Miss Klowner McCarthy praising the club and its aims with remarks on education and culture.

Spiders Rally Over Indians In William and Mary Gym

The Richmond Spiders defeated the William and Mary Indians 46 to 80 last Wednesday, avenging previous losses. The Spiders dominated from the start, delivering superior play in offense and defense to secure the decisive win.

Hampden Sidneys Tigers Star Players Shine In Final Season

Hampden Sydney finished atop the Eastern Virginia Association thanks to cohesive team play led by Captain Murry of Williams and Mary. Crosby topped the league with 27 field goals in six games, while Richmond College totaled 171 points to lead team scoring and Hampden Sydney posted 40 tallies behind early leaders.
