Wesley Foundation Attends State College Conference in Petersburg

Delegates from the Wesley Foundation joined a district conference of Methodist students at Virginia State College for Negroes in Petersburg on February 23. The event, themed The Mission of the Church, featured stimulating interracial discussions with both colored and white students. The foundation plans more such meetings soon.

Campus Revue Set To Open With Dances Skits And Jest

Lights curtain and action mark the March 14 start of the annual Campus Revue. Westhampton and Richmond College students prepare acts with music dance and craft as Jeter Hall fills beyond capacity. Professor Williams jokes walls may need reinforcement before final tryouts Monday afternoon to add any new acts.

Slim Turnout Delays Mr. Richmond College Contest

John Batte editor of the Web reports the Mr Richmond College election was postponed after only four male candidates attended the initial contest. He said proper notification failed, so the contest will be held again next week with advance notices. Miss Westhampton had full representation and the winner will be announced soon.

Phi Alpha Captures UK Bridge Tourney

Melvin Segal and Alvin Isaacs of Phi Alpha defeated Jack Shea and Jack Kol cum of Kappa Sigma to win the Harlequin Club Bridge Tournament and the Richmond College bridge championship. The event, held Friday evening in the YMCA game room, included fraternities except Phi Gamma Delta.

Y Sponsored Ping Pong Tourney Attracts Leading Paddle Pushers

Richmond College hosts a YMCA ping pong tournament on Monday March 10 to crown singles and doubles champions. About 20 to 80 students and faculty will compete. semi finals and finals occur in April with matches posted in the Y Building and Slop Shop. Revivals To Begin Tonight In Hopewell And Warrenton

University of Richmond BSU sponsors simultaneous youth revivals in Hopewell and Warrenton Virginia. Services start at 8 pm with Roy Wyatt Jr presiding in Hopewell and Kent Kiser leading Warrenton. Students have conducted two Sundays of prior services and will travel by automobile between cities until Sunday night.

Deadline Set For Carnival Stunts by Student and Jamous Committees

A joint meeting of the Student Activities Council and Jamous Carnival Committee set the March 12 deadline for stunt suggestions at 4 30 p m. Cliff Long Thad Crump and Bill Garvey named chairs of Decorations Coordination and Publicity. Faculty and student members will meet Wednesday to approve proposals including a popcorn booth fortune telling and boxing exhibition.

Schotzberger Wins Recount

Thad Crump and Reid Spencer were elected to head the Richmond College Student Government as president and vice president respectively by the largest student vote in school history. 885 of 1,186 eligible students cast ballots last Tuesday. Other officers were elected: William Warren secretary, Stanley Cohen representative to the Board of Publications, Joe LaLuna athletic council representative, and multiple senators at large. Basil Morrissette and Martin Schotzberger tied for treasurer triggering a special recount.

Student Government Treasurer Recount Corrects Ballot Mistake

Solon B. Cousins announced yesterday that Martin Shtozberger was declared treasurer after a recount revealed an error in vote tabulations. Shtozberger, a senator-at-large and secretary treasurer of the Forensics Council, previously led the Veterans Club and chaired the Housing Survey Committee for veterans.
