Poage Wins Presidency by Margin of Four Votes

Westhampton College Dance Promoted by College Government

The College Government Association hosted a successful dance on Saturday night March 3 in the Westhampton dining room. Westhampton and Sweet Briar guests wore red carnation bouquets. Honor guests from Sweet Briar and Westhampton, plus college officials, assisted in receiving guests with faculty member Isabel Harrison helping.

Harlequin Club Plans Dance And Elections

A Harlequin Club meeting approved a dance for Saturday April 1 at the Phi Kappa Sigma House. Harry Roberts and Charlie Arendale were tasked to secure orchestra information. A follow up meeting was set for today after compulsory chapel. New member elections will occur before the dance to include newcomers.

Jones Wins in PDE Editorial Contest at Richmond College

First prize of five dollars awarded to F Overton Jones of 316 Fourth Avenue Richmond for an editorial arguing that college newspapers should mold student opinion. Richmond College voters cast the largest ballot in history as Victor edges ahead 213 to 209 in a razor tight contest. The entire race is characterized by an extreme closeness in vote totals and a strong turnout.

McCrone Elected New Vice President of Student Government

Richard Poage won the SGA presidency at Richmond College by 213 to 209 over Fillmore Sanford. McCrone captured the vice presidency with 145 votes, beating Beverley Britton and Woodrow Carter. Charles Arendall and Lacy led in senatorial races, while Charles Ryland won a Board of Publications seat.

Richmond College Dietitian Rejoices Over Recovery
