Physics Show Lights Up Campus Tonight At 7 30

Sigma Pi Sigma presents a free physics show at 7 30 tonight hosted by Parker Givens. Demonstrations include a 200000 volt Tesla coil, color changing bulbs, floating metal rings, sound wave visuals, light behavior with voices, and a “personality machine.” All university friends invited with no admission.

Richmond College Students Favor Supreme Court Stance

In a campus assembly 225 students sided with Buford Brandis that Roosevelt policy would destroy constitutional government while 190 backed Noah Fehl against wholesale attacks on New Deal measures. Of 492 attendees, 20 were undecided in a debate to end routine semi monthly sessions.

Richmond College Dean's List Announces 110 Students

Richmond College releases the Dean's List for the first semester listing 110 students. Among them 34 seniors 25 juniors 18 sophomores and 33 freshmen earned distinguished marks. Six named students achieved all A records, including Howard R. Carroll Clyde T. Francisco and others.

Carver Delivers Fourth Lecture In Faculty Series

Dr. M. EB. Carver associate professor of psychology and sociology spoke on Some Thing Are Not What They Seem at the T. C. Williams Law School last Monday. It was the fourth in the faculty lecture series in the law school auditorium presided by Prof. W. B. Hackley.

Male Voice Sought for Puppetry Show at Richmond College

Richmond College seeks a male voice for a marionette show on April 9 to read lines by Senator Byrd Mayor Bright and other Virginia public figures. Applications are welcome to Alton Williams. the chosen voice will replace a female reader behind the scenes.

Rigmarole Proves Spotty Lambda Chi Wins Cup

The 37 edition of the Rigmarole at the Playhouse drew mixed notes with strong stage settings and costumes but lengthy dialogue dimming impact. Elsie Bradshaw and Mary Dell Crouch impressed. Lambda Chi Alpha’s “Speak for Yourself Silly” was judged best fraternity skit. The Pony Ballet and several numbers entertained while some players showed stiffness. The three original songs stood out as highlights.

Student Body Elects Page as President in Record Vote

The Student Government Association election produced 570 total votes, a campus high, with Roger B. Page of the Independent Party winning the presidency as 321 ballots were cast for him. The Independent Party also claimed six of nine posts including vice president and secretary.

Glee Club Rehearsals For Spring Concert Begin

Richmond College Glee Club holds twice weekly rehearsals preparing for the spring trip and campus concert in May at Jenkins Amphi. The Roanoke trip is postponed beyond March 12 and Center Cost Virginia trip shifts to late April with multiple engagements in King and Queen County Norfork Portsmouth and Kilmarnock.

Grover Pitts opened the Biology Club program with a talk on Bird Personalities. Hamilton Enslow spoke on The Descent of Man. Dr. R F Smart discussed Bio Genetic Law applications. The meeting planned an annual field trip to Dismal Swamp.
