Picnic Opens Wednesday at Quonset Hut Theatre

University Players present Picnic at the Quonset Hut from Wednesday to Friday with tickets at fifty cents. The three act drama set in a Kansas town follows Hal Carter as tensions rise among Flo Owens Helen Potts and townspeople in a midsummer backyard.

Music Club Sets Tuesday Recital at Keller Hall

The Music Club will meet Tuesday at 1 30 p m in Dr Jessons studio Keller Hall. Mrs Catherine Spenser and Drucilla Young will present selections from their senior recitals. The club welcomes all music enthusiasts.

Westhampton Pledges Near Forty Percent For Pool Wing

Westhampton students last week pledged 963.50 toward a Keller Hall swimming pool wing. Senior class raised 419.80 of 500 goal, Juniors 200 of 600, Sophomores 145.50 of 500, Freshmen 200 of 1000. Bm St. Clair chairs an all-out drive as alumnae hope to erect the pool at the end of a three year fund campaign. This year’s plan targets 40 thousand dollars.

Draft Exams Set For April 28 Qualifying Test

Applications for the April 28 1960 College Qualification Test are now available at Selective Service local boards. Eligible students must apply immediately and mail the completed form to the Educational Testing Service Princeton New Jersey. Results will be sent to the student’s local board to aid deferment consideration.

Richmond Symphony to Highlight Leonie Rysanek at Mosque Concert

The Richmond Symphony presents soprano Leonie Rysanek with conductor Edgar Schenkman in a Monday 8 50 pm program at the Mosque. The program features Mozart Debussy Verdi Wagner and Giordano with aria highlights from Aida Fidelio Tristan and Isolde. Rysanek, a veteran with La Scala Vienna Munich Berlin and the Met, made her U.S. debut in 1956 with San Francisco Opera. She is known for replacing Lady Macbeth at the Metropolitan. A WRNL broadcast of The Flying Dutchman will follow tomorrow at 2 pm.

Halls of Ivy Set as Westhamp ton Song Contest Theme

Westhampton plans a March 24 contest at Keller Hall gymnasium with Halls of Ivy as the theme song. Alice Clement, chair, says classes will sing an original pop song a drawn pop song a drawn proclamation song and Halls of Ivy. Class leaders Betsy Gathings Ferne Grimmett Helen Nitti and Kay Koontz arrange dress and practice starts Monday for freshmen and Wednesday for others.

Westminster Plans Roslyn Conference for Virginia Students

Presbyterian students of the Synod of Virginia will hold a fellowship conference at Roslyn Conference Grounds today through Sunday. The theme Who, Me My Mission in the Mission of the Church will be explored in Bible study fireside chats and discussion groups led by William W. Rogers minister to students at the University of Georgia with Howe Brown as moderator of the Westminster Fellowship Council. Students seeking to attend should see Jennie Stokes in North Carolina today.
