Kalbaugh Wins Business School Presidency In Election

Gary Kalbaugh won the School of Business presidency after a March 1 election beating Bucky Luck 39 to 33. Ed Harrison captured the vice presidency, Bob Winckler won secretary by one vote, and Don Warner defeated Al Putze 37 to 35 for treasurer. Roland Evans led the senatorial race with 50 votes. a runoff with Lewis Harrison and Doug Powell is set for March 7 in the Library.

Eliza Hubble will be Westhampton College’s Student Government president for 1955 56 after elections held last week. Margie Kantner wins vice presidency. Pat Eanes named Senior Town Representative. Dottie Stiff and Rosalind Allen lead South and North Courts respectively. Betty Lou Kendall leads YWGA. Helen Crittenden tops Athletic Association.

Wilbur Kersey Leads RC Student Government Victory

Wilbur Kersey and the Student Party swept seven of ten top posts in the Richmond College Student Government elections. Reynolds, Whitehead, Hicks, Tucker, Yankovitch, and Andrews also won seats, with Mac Bishop and Pajacz kowski among All-Campus picks. Turnout was 66 percent of 930 students. Kersey, reelected president, urged unity and active student participation for effective governance.

Georgetown U Takes Trophy In Chess Meet Thriller

Georgetown finished fourth as Duke claimed the Miller and Rhoads trophy with 16 points at the Southern Intercollegiate Chess Association tournament at the University of Richmond. North Carolina had 15 points, Richmond 4, and Virginia 7. Donald Burdick led Duke on board one with best record. Don Fidlow won the most brilliant game prize for defeating Kit Crittenden, the first time Crittenden had ever lost in intercollegiate play.
