Trustees call for compulsory budget fee as Richmond College votes last Tuesday. William Henry Pettus Jr. wins the presidency, Ralph Harris Ferrell Jr. becomes vice president, Surat Wellford Cook named secretary, and Clarence James Gray plus Th. No candidates ran for Treasurer Student Government Vice-President Secretary or Athletic Council Treasurer. Special elections set for Tuesday March 8 in the Faculty Room follow the same rules as the regular election. Candidates must pay Budget Fee be endorsed by three paid students and have name in George Schools by midnight March 5. All students may vote.

S P E Fraternity Leads First Semester Scholastic Averages
The Interfraternity Council reports Sigma Phi Epsilon tops campus averages for the first semester with 1.5531. Phi Kappa Sigma is second at 1.3462 and Kappa Sigma third at 1.2127. The annual trophy goes to the fraternity with the highest scholastic average based on quality credits per hour.

Seniors Win Song Contest at Westhampton Campus

Richmond Debaters Lose to Ashland Men in Debate
The University of Richmond debate team fell 3-0 to Asbury College of Kentucky on Monday night. Ashland men Messrs R A Sundberg and B E Overmeyer argued for centralized control of industry, while Richmond College's Stuart Cooke and L B McKinney defended the negative. The discussion centered on replacing capitalism with centralized planning. the Asbury side urged a wartime style board, the Richmond side warned against implementing such a system now. Faculty veto ends plans for big campus dances
The Faculty Dance Committee of Richmond and Westhampton Colleges vetoed a two-night event with a famous orchestra for March 18 and 19. Interfraternity Council will scale back plans engaging a regional orchestra with formal dances priced at about 1.50 dollars for March 18 and 1.00 for March 19, or 2.00 for both.

Richmond College Adopts Student Activities Fund Fee
The Board of Trustees approves a 22 dollar Student Activities Fund starting 1932-33, combining with the athletic payment. Fifteen dollars goes to athletics and seven to student organizations and publications. Allocations are approved by the Student Senate with veto power by three administrators including the Dean of Richmond College. The president can excuse individual students from the new fee, collected at the session start.

The Richmond College Board of Trustees, after a February 4 1932 meeting and an Executive Committee review on February 26, approves a new annual Student Activities Fee of 22 dollars to be collected starting September 1952. The current athletic fee of 15 dollars is abolished with 15 dollars of the new fee going to athletics and 7 dollars to other student groups including publications.
