Westhampton Dining Rule Maintains Women Evening Hall Policy
The Westhampton College policy restricting men to the court dining hall during dinner hours remains in effect until March. The WC Senate asked the Board’s Executive Committee to continue a coeducational system. the committee referred the matter to the Student Affairs Committee for a March 6 meeting citing lack of accurate usage data and other proposals. A dorm survey showed 237 in favor of full coeducation and 38 opposed, prompting the Senate to rescind earlier support for a women only dining hall and urge continuation of coed dining, while noting limited access and cafeteria service affect the college spirit and coordinate education goals.
