The Richmond Medical College five defeated the Richmond College Spiders 45 to 14 on the Y W C A floor. After a tight opening, the Medicol pulled away with strong scoring and strong defense, building a clear lead as the game progressed.
Dr. George W. McDaniel spoke at the Ministerial Association meeting on January 1 about the Seventy five Million Campaign. He explained points about the campaign and shared insights from his responsibilities as State Director. Continued on Page Two.
The Senior Class met in the Y Building before the holidays for the purpose of chaos as Mr Cheetham the editor in chief of the Annual was compelled to discontinue scholastic pursuits at RC due to ill health. Continued on page two.
Westhamptonites visit Kilbourne Farm on Sunday afternoon to sing hymns for the girls there. Mr. Arendall asked Miss Lough to select volunteers, and several girls eagerly agreed to go with little prep time before heading to the farm.
The second semester opens with an intercollegiate debate scheduled at Richmond College Auditorium on January 2 1920. The question asks if England should recognize Ireland's independence, with Richmond College defending the affirmative. Coaches include Anderson Randall and Handy. judges were Bryan, Dingus, and Ryland.
The campus calendar highlights events from January including Soph Party Baraca Social at the First Baptist Church on Friday. Vesper services on Sunday. R. C. vs. Church Hill at the YWCA on Monday. Inter-Collegiate Debate on Tuesday with R. C. versus Randolph-Macon. Student prayer meeting on Wednesday and more activities through January 29 at the YM C A.
